Newest to the Rail Yard is the BN Fuel Tender #5. What this car is is a Tender for Diesel Engines. The attached pic shows #5 connected between two Engines. Treat the car just as you would a Tender. All the files are included in the download.
BN Fuel Tender #5 BB download

As far as I know BN and CSX were the only ones who had these, with Soo Line having a GP9 that was converted to one. (see photo below)

I love the new passenger cars. Will be using them shortly in my next map.(I was just sitting here and could not think of anything new.)
    Couple ideas I have:
There are plenty of TrainCars and since most freight is being hauled in Box cars, and we have them covered. Maybe a LumberCar? I can not think of anything else.

One thing would be nice to have: that is a list of revisions, starting from this date. It could be the very first post in every thread. We have now so many BB-s (thanks !*th_up*! ) that's it is difficult to keep track.

A lumber car might be possible, depending on how much detail you are looking for on the ends I have an idea for it, not sure if I can get it to work. There are many free 3d downloads of train cars available, but a minor problem comes in as to one of the lines in the NIF file. Plays havic with the items in the game.

The cars I have yet to post are colored with many different railroad colors as I have plans to put the details on them later, but they can be used now for variations in existing cars. The problem with the detail is that it takes up a bit more memory as the DDS file has to be a bit larger to handle the detail.

Now, the revisions. I had thought of that, but who reads the first post? One thing possible would be to have a new thread with a limit of 4 or 5 posts. Each time new material is added to a BB section a notice gets posted. When the thread goes over the set number, the first one gets deleted. This way there are always new posts which show on the main screen and the thread does not get overly long. I think this would be better as edits to a post don't show and you woild be searching all of them on a daily basis. Even if someone else adds a post to the thread, bobby or I could nip the first one to keep the number the same. Sound good?

These parts about the revisions will be cut out after we get them going... -offtopic- nothing against you, it's a good idea. It's just nice to keep the forum clean :eng

With 17 cars added, the number is now 104. The cars posted are simply solid colors. The existing DDSs are 512 x 512. In order to get the detail I need they will have to be made larger, and how large depends on the detail wanted. A different graphics editing program may do it, I'm not sure, and money is a problem.

Enjoy the new ones and let me know if you find any problems.

At times I am looking at the existing BB files and updating them by removing unneeded files such as dummies and certain DDS files, editing the NIFs and XMLs of course. As I do this I am putting this icon: :up on the post.

The reason for a lot of this is mainly memory used by a map. A lot of the early Mods were done without complete knowledge of just how this game works. We have learned a lot since !**yaaa The first one I did is the Brown Iron Ore Car. The modder copied the dummies, EMSK, NRML and SPEC files and just renamed them. There are, at times, a need to include these at various times, but a simple color change is not one of them.

Looks good. You might want to change the cnw to CNW tho. And add a yellow end:

Unless you object, I'll work up a full BB for it. I'll do the v1 in the same color but with no markings.

As to the coca cola instead of coffee......think you can find one? If not, I'll see if I can find some free time to edit it. Maybe a Coca Cola/Dr Pepper using the Beer Guys.........or just cans of pop for both icons.

    And here is a good site to go to for hopper cars and other cars and stuff: http://chicago.railfan.net/cgi/photos.p ... opper_cars" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Suggestion - when you do cars like these, change the numbers on them. That way the number can be used in the files names. I called #2 CNW_A_Coal_Car and the other will be CNW_B_Coal_Car. If you want to change the number on # 3, let me know. The last two will be enough.

Good work! I love the older outside ribbed grain cars. There is a lot of variety in paint and railroads that they were owned by. :up Drool egads

When I get the Building Kit set up I'll post it.

Got the kits for several of the original cars and a few of my own to clean up and post also.

BN3140 - great posts as to your cars. On the v1 cars, you might want to put the wheels Diff for them in the folder and retake the shot. Also if you could, use 512 x512 for the screen shot. I'll do up a full write-up of how to do the BBs and the screen shots.

The Reading Railroad is known by most every railroad enthusiast. I liked the picture I found and figured I'd make one one day. Well, in looking for a car for my map-to-be, I looked at it, but decided that it was a bit out of date for my map. Then I found that ConRail had bought them out. Well, I needed the original car first, then paint it up as ConRail. So, after making the car I decided to post it.

I hope someone can use it and others can enjoy it.
