    Alright, I'll see what I can find.

    You want a 'port' outside of a city. That sounds like it will have to be built as an out-of-city-industry.

    Now bear with me here, there are fancy names for this stuff, but it's been a while since I played with this game like this. Things tend to get buried between the ears.

    (I know I got the keys to that bulldozer somewhere around here.........)

    Any help will be much appreciated. Certainly no hurry, although I'm also going to keep tinkering.

    As for the port, I quite fancy Rodea's Cargo Port, but as with every other port I've tried, the game hangs on Tinkering with Supply and Demand every time I place one. If all else fails, I'll place a village where I want to the port to be, and move the port warehouses from Cape Town, then make them so fantastically expensive, that no one outside of Train Table mode will ever be able to build one anywhere else.

    Hey, something for you to look into. You mentioned a 'Level 10' city. What about calling it a 'Port', locating where you wanted it and going from there.

    Mind you, it's been quite a while since I've messed with Maps, so this may not be the exact way it is supposed to be done, but I think you get the idea. No Industry should be needed, hence it cannot be bought, only used for shipping.

    <CityType>
    <szName>Port</szName>
    <Size>10</Size>
    <NumLargeBuildings>0</NumLargeBuildings>
    <NumMediumBuildings>0</NumMediumBuildings>
    <NumSmallBuildings>1</NumSmallBuildings>
    <Production>
    <Resource>
    <Input>Iron Ore</Input>
    <Output>None</Output>
    <InputOutputRatio>1.0</InputOutputRatio>
    </Resource>
    </Production>

    That is actually exactly what that level 10 city is for, but I did the industry slightly differently. I filled all three industry slots with instances of Slider38's light industry buildings and renamed them "Port Warehouses". They require Iron Ore. I also set <bInCity>0</bInCity> on the warehouses in the industry file so no one else could build them. For a bit of fun, I added Rodea's cargo port as a decoration.

    I think your way might be better though, as it should prevent the mayor of that town demanding iron ore - which is what is happening now.

    Thanks!
