When I did my Japan map I added a victory objective of delivering passengers from Tokyo to Nagasaki averaging greater than 160 mph. The idea was to use a Shinkansen bullet train. I never liked the looks of the TGV engine in SMR, so I have modified it to try and look more like a Japanese Shinkansen. Attached are the files and 3 pics. I used the most modern passenger cars I could find but they still look old next to the engine. I may need to redo some cars to go with it. All comments are appreciated. What changes would make it look more realistic?

I think what you might want to do is do a search for 'bullet train japan' and study the pics. All the ones I see there consist of a cab with a passenger section. One of the F or E units might be a better start, pulling the overhead pickup from the one you used and adding it to it. Put windows from the passenger cars on the sides and add needed doors to the skin. The windows can be left lit since the engine has no effect on the passenger load.

As to the cars, that would really depend on what engine you use. But I think that with a bit of editing we have car parts that could be converted. Existing passenger cars may be usable depending, again, on the engine you choose. Gather the passenger CKs, give them white skins, open each one in NifSkope and click on the body. This will show the structure lines and you can see what would have to be shifted to get the shape you need.

There are also the F and E B-Units. Reshape them, shave off unneeded parts and add windows and graphics. The E's are long and can be made longer in Blender. Shrink the trucks, keeping the width, and shave the journal boxes off. All the removed parts will give you more room on the DDSs.
