Building Blocks Are Us! is happy to announce the offical grand opening of Containers Are Us!, a subsidiary of Train Cars Are Us!.
A few of us thought it was a little boring looking at piles of containers all over the maps that all looked the same. So, we gave our research department a few dozen cases of Dr. Pepper and locked them in a room. Well, they survived, and came up with a new system for making up Double Stacked Containers that we really thought was quite nice.
Using only 8 different container skins, anyone has the ability to create 64 different loads for the Double Stack Container Cars. And, with the three DSC Cars we now have, that gives us a total of 192 possible combinations. And that is just a small start. If we see this being used enough, we can continue to add more container skins and more DSC Car skins. Just adding 1 more container skin will increase the total by 51, and with each added container or DSC Car, that number will grow larger exponentially!
The zip attached to the bottom of this post is a tutorial of how this is done. You can also go into Bobbys Wiki and under 'Tutorials' you will find a version of it with screenshots. The procedure is simple cut & paste, and editing a few file names and contents.
Each post will contain both the top and bottom container DDS for each skin. I have no screenshots to go with them, but that may change.
