These have less than 2000 vertice and the loads are part of the DIFF.

The one used by you two have to much 3D detail for this game. At least that is my silly opinion......... :Morning

    As to skinning..... good work!

I have posted my BNSF DSC 211007 car - my version of a well car. The actual cars are articulated - two of these cars attached over a single truck. I couldn't do that, but I like the overall look of the car, so I put together a car with a similar look to it. This actually started out as on of Snoopy's 55' flatcars, but I don't think any of the original vertices remains.

I have updated my CN covhopper 388384. I guess I just didn't notice that the top doors did not meet in the middle when I first tested the car. I discovered the problem on a different covered hopper I have been working on and thought that I had best check the CN hopper. Low and behold it had the same issue. I have moved the door bones so it is now working well.

Maybe your engineers are hinting of their need for a vacation..........

Good work tho. Have you thought of CKs for these new cars you are producing?

CKs?? Heck, I'm just trying to make progress on this Minnesota Rails map going into it's second year in production. It's been interesting though. I've learned a few more things along the way. Of course the game still kicks my butt with some regularity.

Basically, the files prior to the color application. If you don't have those, no problem, I'll do the CKs from what you have posted.

If you do a new car or engine design it is best to do the shading first. Saving that gives you a CK. A skinned single color version prior to applying lettering and decals will be what the other three DDS files will be made from.

Sorry Snoopy. I just don't work that way. If there is shading to do, it gets applied when I paint. There is no separate shading done. In my Paint Shop Pro program, that is just not an option. The files I have posted are really all there is. Well, some of my stuff might have 30 different files as I paint something, check to see how it looks, paint something else, more checking, etc. etc. It is not unusual for some stuff to end up with 60 or more files between nifs and tgas as I slowly work my way along. I am currently re-working the tractor from the games grain farm - 57 files and counting. (28 are nifs). But I enjoy the challenge.

No problem, as I find the time (or if any gets donated) I'll work it out backwards.

I have posted a new v3 reefer, BB_CN_reefer_235043. This car has been shortened from the original v3 previously posted. From the images that I found, it just didn't look as long. This gives you an idea of the difference in length.

I have posted a new stockcar - BB_CP_stockcar_277192. I've been at this about 3 weeks or so. My last attempt was based on a v3 reefer, but it would not load and unload cattle. I took a v2 livestock nif from the game and stripped it down to the doors and started from there. Built all of the struts and such, then took an image of the sides and removed it all. The nif was just getting too big too fast. I could not get it to work in testing until I finally removed the doors and built my own. A lot of frustration in this one, but I like the end result.

    CP_stockcar_loading.jpg

This car is loading angus cattle, but replacing the angus files with cow or hereford is no big deal. Like other larger cars, this car will not line up with the annex when loading, but I don't think that can be overcome. Enjoy!

Digging through the many folders of random stuff that I tested on the SMR-NA map and found this bulkhead with Hoyer tanks that's dated to over 2 years old :o

I just tested it out and everything worked fine, it ran empty and loaded, and the tanks were in proper position.

Two years...... Where on earth did you get those DDS files from????? I have a ruff layout of the DDSs, but not with the grating that you have. At least not that I could find in an hours search.......

I had intended to work up a set of tank container DDSs to be posted, but the world stopped me from getting as far as yours have gone. At least I cannot find them if I did. My three bulkhead tank containers sets contain the car and the tanks on the same DDS. The Construction Kits of them do not have the grating. If you can dig up a DIFF DDS, unpainted, with the grating I can repost the kits with it in them.

If you need to, do a search on your drive for Tank_Containers and Tank_Container, that is how I found what I have.

I never got a DDS or CK with the grating, it was just something I did on my own. I just cut out a ton of little squares rolff

The tanks are white so feel free to pull the walkways from these for use in the CK's.

Well, in order to use your walkways on the original Bulkhead Tank Containers I'd have to scale them down. Doing so screws up the grating MAJORLY! So, I'll be redoing the CKs to the same way you have yours. I'll get all three redone in the next week or so.

Thanks for all the work you did on these!

Sorry my files aren't the same as yours. There must have been different versions of the CK going around

I'm glad you like them though :)

The original CK files for the 3 Bulkhead cars contain the car and the container on the same DDS:

    Bulkhead_1_6_tank_containers_DIFF.jpg

Just now searching I found the files you used that I sent to you. Sept of 2012.

    TC1_diff.jpg

At least that is a rough version of it. They are both 1024 size files.

In building the CKs the gang tried to keep them down to as few files as possible to keep the amount of memory required as low as possible, hence the containers as part of the cars themselves. I'll get the newer CKs up and posted in the next week or so.

When Snoopy commented on the color of the intermodal car in it's BETA phase as it was still being tested, it got me thinking. The car is pink... What company, I don't know, Pinky Corporation :tongue

But I kept thinking about it, even further than that, and decided to make the first intermodal car I paint in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. I do not know anyone personally who has breast cancer, but I do know that it is a very real problem.

I will probably post the CK's for the intermodal cars this weekend.
